The Royal Botanical Garden while a living archive, it is a constant, sanctuary, site of nurture, where memories and associations linked to plant species lost in time connect to personal histories. Adrift and Between Stones is a retrieval of fragments- of fragility, fracture and brevity which nestle and float in memory. Sanctuary becomes provisional, the garden a metaphor where the fragile persistence of blooms within inhospitable or once lovingly tended now abandoned environments become potent symbols of endurance and temporality.
