Much within the realm of the visible stirs feelings and ignites ideas which are intangible yet rich and layered in meaning; hovering behind the surface. I am interested in the metaphors which nature provides; the layers behind which we cannot see.
In all weather I walk within a craggy coastal landscape and in these harsh conditions the most delicate pink flower sprouts for a brief period, unexpectedly emerging between stones, to return and continue growing with such resilience among the wind and surf drenched terrain. The work draws from this resilience: something of beauty, so fragile yet strong and persistent.
