Printmaking

print banner process-

Wendy has been a member of the Sydney Printmakers since 1980 and works across screenprint, intaglio and relief printmaking processes. Printmaking acts as a means of drawing, engaging with both mark and process. The repeatable nature of the print medium facilitates exploration into the image possibilities of unique state works. This method of working may also be viewed as an extension of drawing as a way of working through ideas.

Themes draw from ritual; that of being embedded in the landscape experiences of the coast as a site of personal meaning and gardens from the vestige of memory. Being both a participant and observer of these landscapes  I am interested in silent places and how ones shifting psychology activates these spaces.

Wendy has exhibited  throughout Australia and internationally in Korea, Chile, China, Taiwan, Canada, New Zealand,Hungary,Spain,Portugal and Norway. Her work is held in the National Gallery of Australia, Art Gallery New South Wales and significant Regional Museum Gallery collections.
